NAEP National network of Regional & Special Interest Groups

Regional Groups

The National Association Equipment Providers has been working over recent years to establish a network of regional groups throughout the United Kingdom.

From the establishment of the first Regional Group in the North West, the benefits and success of this group have pioneered the development and the achievement of this network.

What can you gain from being a regular attendee of your Regional Group?

  • Strengthened links between service providers
  • A broadened knowledge and understanding of legislation
  • Regular updates on Government Initiatives and proposals
  • The sharing of good practice and established protocols
  • Problem solving from the knowledge base of attending members
  • Guest speakers on speciality subjects
  • Contributing to the future development and direction of NAEP

Anyone working within equipment provision can benefit from becoming a member of NAEP - our membership has a broad spectrum of personnel, including commissioners, clinicians, prescribers, budget managers, specialist nurses, stores managers, therapists and technicians to name but a few.

We are pleased to receive the support and involvement from the commercial sector, who, in sponsoring our meetings, allow the opportunity for members to be kept up to date on new product introductions and to provide feedback to suppliers and manufacturers on product development.

Non members are welcome to attend a Regional Meeting, but we would hope that by experiencing the activities and inertia of the groups, that you would be encourage to support NAEP and the work of the regions by becoming a member.

If you would like to learn more about the Regional Group within your area or to attend a meeting as a visitor, please contact the Regional Chair for your region as below.

Special Interest Groups

NAEP has initiated the formation of the network of Special Interest Groups to extend an opportunity to all members with special interests, skills and knowledge to contribute to the future development of the organisation.

In order to order to give these newly introduced groups a sound foundation it has been decided that these groups will initially be Chaired by members of the Council (previously the Executive Committee). In the future, it is intended that each of these groups witll elect their own Chair.

Just some of the benefits of being a member of a Specialist Interest Group:

  • Focussed project work with clearly defined aims & objectives
  • Being a Team player in a specialist working party
  • Formulating and consolidating protocols & procedures that will influence strategic areas that impact on equipment provsion
  • Provision of advice and guidance to the National Council
  • Collaboration and work experience in new areas and at a national level
  • The strengthening of the 'voice' of an organisation that represents the interests of it's members
  • Influencing the development of services that best serve and meet the needs of service users
  • Contributing to the future development & growth of NAEP

What's involved?

  • Your enthusiasm and a committment of your time for 1 year
  • Attendance to approximately 4-6 meetings a year with interim e-mail correspondence to progress 'work in progess' tasks
  • A desire to play a part in ensuring the dissemination of information and specialist knowledge to the benefit of the NAEP membership
