Session Title – Four Nations Update

Session Bio – What has been happening locally around the UK, the team each give a first-hand breakdown from their nation with a Q&A at the end.

Thomas will be presenting with – Andrew Stevenson (England), Dean Cooke (Northern Ireland) & Adam Foale (Wales).

Thomas has been Equipu Partnership Manager for 2 years. This followed a 28 year career as a Community Occupational Therapist and Care Management Team Lead.

Equipu is a partnership of Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board and six Local Authorities in and around the Glasgow area. Equipu serves over 1.4 million people (over a quarter of the Scottish population) and around 2300 assessors who prescribe equipment.

His role is to lead on the procurement of equipment, determine policies and protocols for effective equipment provision, give assessors guidance on the appropriate prescription of equipment, oversee financial management, promote financial and environmental efficiencies and sustainability, drive quality improvement and lead on incident report and equipment alert responses.

Thomas also organises the Scottish NAEP meetings and takes a lead role in the supporting the platform for the continuous exchange of information among this group. He is also a regular contributor to the Scottish Government’s Equipment & Adaptations National Network.
